Treating Heritage Homes with Respect : The Residence Collection

The north-west boasts a wealth and variety of period properties, from quaint 17th century cottages in Croston to handsome detached Edwardian homes in Bolton, to impressive barn conversions around Chorley.

Whilst these homes quickly capture our hearts with their charm and history, updating them to a thermally efficient home whilst maintain their character can at times seem an impossible task. In years gone by home owners have either retained original timber windows, at the cost of losing heat from their home, or have updated with standard UPVC windows which have undermined the character of the property.

However, over the past few years technology has moved on dramatically, with the introduction of thermally efficient UPVC windows in stunning heritage style, replicating authentic timber windows. At the forefront of this new technology; The Residence Collection.

As an approved installer of The Residence Collection, we are passionate about transforming properties. The Residence Collection is available in a wide range of stunning colour finishes to suit your home and are finished with high end Romatopola hardware.

Residence 9

The original profile of the Residence Collection. Designed to replicate 19th Century timber windows. The R9 window has a 100mm frame depth, with 9 chambers within the profile. An elegant flush exterior and a range of decorative bead finishes internally, creates an all round classic aesthetic.

Residence 7

Whilst identical in design to the R9 profile, R7 has 75mm frame depth, with 7 chambers within the profile, and a range of decorative bead finishes internally. The advantage of using an R7 profile over an R9 is that if replacing an original 70mm frame, no cutting back of the plaster is required, making a quicker installation process.

Residence 2

Residence 2 is the choice for a customer looking for a high quality window in a more contemporary home. Flush outside, with a bold square detail inside, these windows look wonderfully sleek once installed.

Conservation Areas

Residence Collection windows are so authentic looking that they are even considered in some conservation areas.

The original design brief for Residence 9 was to ‘extract key principles, shapes and dimensions from the Article 4 Conservation Area guidelines for windows’ and to marry those principles with new technologies to deliver virtually maintenance free windows.

To enable our staff to spend time with loved one's over the Christmas period, we have decided to operate reduced opening times at our Botany Bay Showroom.

Last week we were sadly informed that Botany Bay Mill will be closing in February 2019, and so all tenants must vacate by then. Although we are of course so disappointed to be losing our showroom in the Garden Centre at Botany Bay, the re-development plans for a stunning new Outlet Village do look impressive, and we hope will bring opportunity to the Chorley area. Check out the artists impressions for the plans at the bottom of the page.

Leafing through the Solidor brochure and photos of our past installations, it’s easy to see why our customers fall in love with these doors.

What our customers' say...

"We have had all our windows and doors, fascias and soffits replaced together with removing a door which also involved bricking up the space. They have matched the brick work brilliantly. The care and attention to detail in the work together with their willingness to meet specific individual requirements has been magnificent. A conservatory is next on our wish list and when we are ready Croston Conservatories will be at the top of our list of companies we will consider."
